Introduction to Undergraduate Research in the BRL
Undergraduate researchers are a major source of BRL success and a great experience for motivated undergraduate students. The best way to get involved with BRL research is to ask questions and pitch in to help in whatever way you can. With increased interest in BRL research we can get the best research experience for all involved by imposing a bit of structure.
UG Research Policies
- Undergraduate researchers seeking academic credit must enroll in EE490 for their first quarter in the BRL. Subsequent quarters may be EE499 or 490 as desired.
- New undergraduates get acquainted with BRL techniques, people, and protocols by performing a selection of three tasks from the "Labors of Hercules" list, maintained by Fredrik Ryden (Winter 2012).
- At the end of the quarter, each undergraduate must submit a 1-3 page PDF report to their graduate student mentor who must then forward it to Prof. Hannaford prior to the start of exam week in order to receive a grade and academic credit.
Getting Started
